USPS tractor-trailer rear-ends another hauling carbonated drinks on I-78 in Hunterdon County; 2 injured

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Two tractor-trailers were involved in an accident on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County Monday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 78 at milepost 10 in Bethlehem Township, Lebron reported.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a USPS tractor-trailer lost control and rear-ended another tractor-trailer hauling carbonated drinks. The impact caused the USPS vehicle to veer off the roadway and collide with a guardrail, Lebron said.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, he added.

The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
