Vehicle crashes into sign at The Shoppes at Lafayette, driver leaves scene

LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Authorities are seeking information after a vehicle crashed into a monument sign at the Shoppes at Lafayette and fled the scene Saturday morning, according to a social media post from the shopping center.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. along Route 94 near the rear entrance to the shopping complex.

Officials said the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a brick and concrete monument sign, causing significant damage. The sign was largely destroyed in the crash.

The vehicle involved is believed to have sustained heavy damage, according to the post.
