Wanted man arrested during Warren County traffic stop

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A traffic stop in Lopatcong Township led to the arrest of a wanted suspect.

On Jan. 5, at around 5:01 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Route 57 near Lopatcong Elementary School after discovering the vehicle had a suspended and expired registration, police said.

The driver, identified as Edwin G. Mahlon of Washington, NJ, was found to have an active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant out of Sussex County, police said.

Mahlon was arrested and later transferred to the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office. He was issued summonses for driving with a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle. Mahlon has a pending court appearance, police said.
