Wanted person arrested after traffic stop in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 21-year-old Haledon woman wanted on an active warrant was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop in Denville Township, according to police.

Police said the driver, Hazjahnae Nelson, was pulled over around Oct. 14 on West Main Street for an equipment violation. During the stop, officers determined that Nelson was unable to provide valid proof of insurance.

Further investigation revealed that Nelson had an active National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant issued by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department, police said.

Nelson was arrested and transported to Denville Police Headquarters for processing. She was issued two motor vehicle summonses — for obstruction of windshield and driving without liability insurance — before being turned over to Passaic County Sheriff’s officers, police said.
