
Warren County woman dies in Pennsylvania crash
CHESTNUT HILL TOWNSHIP, PA (MONROE COUNTY) – A fatal crash in Pennsylvania on Saturday night has claimed the life of a Warren County woman and left another person seriously injured, according to state police.
On Nov. 9, at around 10:46 p.m., Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Fern Ridge responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment in the 1600 block of Route 209, just south of Pleasant Valley Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
During the investigation, authorities found that the vehicle had left the roadway while traveling north at a high rate of speed and had struck a large utility pole. The operator, whose identity has not been released, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospital for treatment.
The passenger, who was identified as a 47-year-old woman from Phillipsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Police suspect the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash and were assisted at the scene by the West End Fire Department, Lehigh Valley EMS, and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.
