Westbound lane on section of Sussex Turnpike to close July 21 in Randolph Township

Gas Main Work Scheduled for Weekdays Through Mid-September

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – Beginning Monday, July 21 the westbound lane of Sussex Turnpike (County Road 617) will be closed between Canfield Avenue and the Randolph Tennis Center in Randolph Township for the installation of a new gas main.

Working is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is expected to be completed by mid-September, weather permitting.

A detour will be in place for westbound traffic on Sussex Turnpike as follows:

  • Turn right on to Canfield Avenue.
  • Turn left onto Route 10 West.
  • Take the jughandle on the right for Mt. Freedom.
  • Continue straight onto Sussex Turnpike to end the detour.

The project is managed by New Jersey Natural Gas and will be performed by Gray Supply Construction Company.
