What to know about Hackettstown’s New Year’s Eve Blast with M&M’s drop

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – New Year’s Eve is here, and Hackettstown is ready for its second annual New Year’s Eve Blast featuring an M&M’s drop.

Here is everything you need to know about the event.

Street Closures:

Starting at around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024 until 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025:

  • Main Street (Route 46) between Willow Grove Street and Valentine Street
  • West Moore Street between Main Street and Madison Street
  • East Moore Street between Main Street and Sharp Street
  • High Street (Route 517) between Main Street and Franklin Street
  • Grand Avenue between Main Street and Madison Street
  • Washington Street between Valentine Street and Warren Street
  • West Stiger Street (NB) at Charles Street
  • West Stiger Street (SB) at the last entrance/exit to 80 Main Street

Plan an alternate route and expect delays in the area.

No Parking Zones:

Starting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024 until 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025:

  • Main Street (Route 46) between Valentine Street and Center Street
  • Washington Street between Valentine Street and Center Street
  • Liberty Street between Main Street and Franklin Street
  • Franklin Street between Liberty Street and High Street

Any vehicles parked in the No Parking zones will be ticketed and towed.

Parking:

  • Free parking is available on all streets unless otherwise posted. Additionally, parking is available at Centenary University, located at 715 Grand Ave.

Restrooms:

  • Porta-A-Johns will be located in Municipal Parking Lot #1, situated between High Street and Liberty Street; Municipal Parking Lot #3, off West Moore Street (near the Moore Street Firehouse); and the Berks Furniture Parking Lot (232 Main Street) at the Kids Zone.

Alcohol:

  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in public.

Security:

  • Extra police officers are assigned to the event. If anyone sees something suspicious or that does not look right, tell a police officer, or call 911 immediately.

This year’s festivities will take place in the heart of Downtown Hackettstown from 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Live Stream:

  • If you’re unable to attend the New Year’s Eve Blast, Hackettstown will be streaming live on Facebook from 8:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Be sure to follow “Town of Hackettstown” on Facebook to catch all the action.

Entertainment Stage (On Main Street Between High Street and Liberty Street):

  • Ten-year-old Giana Pichardo from Hackettstown will perform the National Anthem at 8:00 p.m.
  • Joe Ratz from Bombed Opera (8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.).
  • TCA Cheerleaders will be performing at 8:00 p.m., 8:25 a.m., 9:00 p.m., and at 9:45 p.m.
  • Groove to the beats of DJ SC3 Entertainment.

Kids Zone Will Be In The Berk’s Furniture Outlet Parking Lot, Located At 232 Main Street, From 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.:

  • Take a picture in a giant Snow Globe ($1 per person to enter. CASH ONLY)
  • Cow Train ride ($1 per person per ride. CASH ONLY).
  • Face Painter
  • Applebee’s Grill + Bar Prize Wheel and More!

M&M’S® “Ball Drop” (Intersection of Main Street and High Street):

  • Honored guest Michal Riha, Site Director for the Mars Hackettstown facility, and Hackettstown Mayor Jerry DiMaio will kick off the countdown to ring in the new year.
