Woman charged after restaurant incident, spitting at officers in Morris County

MOUNTAIN LAKES BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) – A woman faces multiple charges following a reported domestic incident in Morris County, according to Mountain Lakes police.

Police responded around 11:39 p.m. March 20 to the parking lot of Ace Hardware on Route 46 West in Denville to assist with a reported domestic violence incident.

An investigation determined that Ashani Chung had earlier been at a restaurant in Mountain Lakes, where an argument occurred with her date. During the incident, she allegedly threw a glass cup, causing damage to property at the restaurant, police said.

While being taken into custody, Chung allegedly spat on a Mountain Lakes police officer and a Denville police officer at the scene.

Chung was charged by Mountain Lakes police with criminal mischief and later charged by Denville police with throwing bodily fluids at law enforcement officers.
