Woman charged with shoplifting from Morris County CVS

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A West Orange woman was charged with shoplifting after police said she stole merchandise from a CVS Pharmacy in Mount Olive Township.

According to police, an officer on routine patrol June 14 observed a gray Honda exiting the CVS Pharmacy parking lot onto Route 46 east. A check of the vehicle’s registration revealed a discrepancy with its expiration date, prompting a motor vehicle stop in the area of the Trading Post.

During the stop, police identified a passenger as Sandra E. Salinasgarate, 50, of West Orange.

Police said the officer observed unopened packages of cosmetics and razors in the back seat of the vehicle.

An investigation determined that the items had been shoplifted from the CVS Pharmacy, according to authorities.

Salinasgarate was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was charged with shoplifting. She was then released pending a court hearing.
