Woman killed in fiery SUV crash in Warren County

WHITE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A Pennsylvania woman was killed and another person injured late Friday night when an SUV overturned and caught fire in a crash on County Road 519 in Warren County, authorities said.

According to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, troopers responded to the scene at 11:19 p.m. on County Road 519 South, near milepost 42.8 in White Township.

A preliminary investigation determined that a Hyundai SUV was traveling southbound when it veered off the roadway to the right, struck a large rock and a utility pole, and then overturned. The vehicle subsequently became fully engulfed in flames, Lebron said.

The driver, identified as Jacqueline Bernette Breeland, 54, of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger in the vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
