1 dead, 2 injured in Sussex County motorcycle crash

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – One person was killed and two people were injured after a motorcycle crash in Sussex County Sunday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 10:20 a.m. on County Route 650 eastbound in Montague Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by Sung Yi, 56, of Parsippany-Troy Hills, and a Mercedes-Benz were traveling eastbound on County Route 650 when the Kawasaki collided with the Mercedes-Benz at the intersection with County Route 675, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, Yi sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said.

The driver and passenger of the Mercedes-Benz sustained minor injuries, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation.
