CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A driver was airlifted to the hospital after rear-ending a stopped tractor-trailer on the shoulder of I-78 in Hunterdon County early Sunday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.
The crash occurred at 4:36 a.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound at milepost 22.6 in Clinton Township, Lebron said.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Kenworth tractor-trailer had been stopped on the right shoulder of I-78 eastbound when a Ford Explorer, driven by Brian Zaikowski, 41, of Ridgefield Park, struck the rear of the Kenworth.
