1 injured in chemical incident in Hunterdon County
KINGWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — One person was injured Thursday afternoon following a chemical incident in Hunterdon County, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to a medical assist call at 4:44 p.m. on Barbertown Point Breeze Road in Kingwood Township, State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino said.
A preliminary investigation found the victim was exposed to a chemical combustion involving yttrium nitrate and nitric acid, authorities said.
The individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available, police said.
