1 seriously injured after truck rear-ends tractor-trailer on I-80 in Morris County

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The driver of a truck was seriously injured in a collision with a tractor-trailer Friday morning on Interstate 80 in Morris County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash occurred around 9:17 a.m. on I-80 eastbound at milepost 32.4 in Roxbury Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Kenworth tractor-trailer and a Mitsubishi truck, driven by Jean Illescas, 36, of Stroudsburg, PA, were both traveling eastbound on I-80. In the area of milepost 32.4, the Mitsubishi struck the rear of the Kenworth trailer, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, Illescas sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, Lebron said.

No other injuries were reported, according to Lebron.

The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
