2 motorcyclists seriously injured in crash on I-80 in Warren County

HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Two motorcyclists were seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 80 in Warren County Saturday evening, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash occurred at around 6:05 p.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound at milepost 12.6 in Hope Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Kawasaki, operated by Edgardo Maldonado-Morales, 27, from Paterson, and an Aprilia, operated by Kevin J. Quinones, 33, from Wilkes-Barre, PA, were traveling eastbound on I-80 when the Aprilia struck the rear of the Kawasaki, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, both drivers were ejected and suffered serious injuries. They were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation, Lebron added.
