Authorities determine suspicious device report in Hunterdon County posed no threat

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A report of a potentially suspicious device at a business in Holland Township prompted a large multiagency emergency response Thursday afternoon before authorities determined there was no threat to public safety.

According to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, Hunterdon County Communications received the report at approximately 3:08 p.m.

The response included the FBI, New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad, Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office, Holland Township Police Department, Lambertville Police Department, Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office, Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management, Hunterdon County Hazmat, Holland Township Fire Department and the Milford-Holland Rescue Squad.

Following a comprehensive assessment, responding agencies determined the device was not suspicious and posed no danger.

Authorities said there is no risk to the public.

The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office thanked all responding agencies for their coordinated and professional response.
