21-year-old seriously injured after ATV crash in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) — A 21-year-old suffered serious injuries in an ATV crash in Sussex County on Saturday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

On Oct. 19 at 10:57 p.m., state troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on private property along East Shore Culver Road in Frankford Township, Lebron said.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Honda FourTrax ATV driven by Shane Engels, 21, of Branchville, entered the roadway and lost directional control, resulting in Engels falling from the vehicle, Lebron said.

Engels sustained serious injuries in the crash, Lebron added.

The incident is currently under investigation, Lebron said.
