Man charged in Morris County vehicle burglary

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A South River man was arrested Saturday morning in connection with a motor vehicle burglary in Denville Township and was found to have active warrants from another agency, police said.

Denville police responded around 8:12 a.m. June 21 to Hillcrest Drive after receiving a report of a vehicle burglary in progress. Officers spotted a vehicle and driver matching the description provided by the caller and conducted a stop, according to police.

The driver was identified as Roman Chkheidze, 39, of South River. Further investigation revealed he had active warrants for his arrest from an outside agency.

Chkheidze was taken into custody without incident, processed at Denville Police Headquarters and charged in connection with the burglary. He was later transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility, where he remains pending a court appearance.
