$2,800 in cash stolen during Hunterdon County home burglary

CLINTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Police announced Monday they are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in Clinton on Tuesday, May 28, 2025, resulting in the theft of approximately $2,800 in cash.

Police said the burglary took place between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. in the area of Leigh Street and Country Club Drive. The suspect is believed to have entered the home by cutting the screen of a downstairs bathroom window and forcing it open. Once inside, the suspect reportedly disabled exterior hard-wired security cameras and turned off the power.

Authorities believe the suspect remained inside the residence for 30 to 45 minutes before fleeing in the direction of Mitchel Lane, Goosetown Drive, and Haver Farm Road. The suspect was last seen wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and light-colored shoes.
