3 Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 teams pass United States Police Canine Association Patrol Dog 1 Trials

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Sheriff James M. Gannon and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office announced that three K-9 teams successfully passed the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Patrol Dog 1 Trials (PD1) on Friday, June 14.

K-9 Teams:

  • Det. Cpl. Adamsky / K9 Tim
  • Det. Cpl. Marshall / K9 Axe
  • Det. Slinger / K9 Zara

The PD1 Trials test dog teams in various aspects of patrol work including obedience, evidence recovery, human scent discrimination, and criminal apprehension. All involved prepared rigorously and earned their certifications.

For the second year in a row, Det. Slinger and K-9 Zara earned the Top Dog award for best overall score, bringing the trophy back to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office for the third time in the last three years.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
