5 injured after crash involving tractor-trailer on I-78 in Hunterdon County

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Five people were injured following a crash on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County early Friday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 3:42 a.m. on Interstate 78 westbound at milepost 7.6 in Bethlehem Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a collision occurred between a Mercedes-Benz and Peterbilt tractor-trailer, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz and four occupants suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital. There were no other injuries reported, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
