Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair returns Aug. 19-23

LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair will return to the Hunterdon County Fairgrounds from Wednesday, Aug. 19, through Sunday, Aug. 23, offering five days of agricultural exhibits, livestock shows, entertainment and family activities.

The annual fair will be held at the Hunterdon County Fairgrounds, 1207 Route 179, and will once again celebrate the county’s agricultural heritage while showcasing the accomplishments of local 4-H members.

Hunterdon County Deputy Director Jeff Kuhl, liaison to the Department of Planning and Land Use, said the event highlights the importance of agriculture and agritourism to the county.

“Agriculture is woven into the fabric of Hunterdon County, and our farms, farmers, and agricultural businesses help define both our economy and our identity,” said Deputy Director Kuhl. “The 4-H & Agricultural Fair celebrates that proud heritage while showcasing the next generation of agricultural leaders through our outstanding 4-H youth. Whether you’re attending for the livestock shows, rides, entertainment, local food, or simply to spend time with family and friends, there’s truly something for everyone. I encourage everyone to save the date and join us this August.”

Visitors can enjoy livestock and horse shows, agricultural exhibits, home arts displays, amusement rides, live entertainment, children’s activities, local food vendors and the fair’s annual grandstand events. Fairgoers will also have opportunities to meet local farmers, learn about modern agriculture and recognize the achievements of Hunterdon County’s 4-H members.

The Hunterdon County 4-H Youth Development Program provides hands-on educational experiences in agriculture, science, engineering, public speaking, the arts, environmental stewardship and other project areas. The annual fair serves as the culmination of participants’ work throughout the year.

County officials noted that Hunterdon remains one of New Jersey’s leading agricultural counties, with a farming industry that supports local food production, preserves farmland and attracts visitors through wineries, farm markets, pick-your-own operations, equestrian facilities and other agritourism destinations.

Admission information, entertainment schedules and additional event details will be announced in the coming weeks.
