
Pedestrian flown to hospital after struck by vehicle on Route 206 in Morris County
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A man suffered serious injuries when a vehicle struck him Thursday morning in Mount Olive Township, according to Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Public Information Officer Meghan Knab.
The crash happened at 5:26 a.m. on Route 206 in the area of the 7-Eleven, 294 Route 206, located in the Flanders section of the township, police said.
When officers arrived, they located a male lying in the roadway and began to render care, police said.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center, police said.
The driver remained at the scene, Knab said.
“The identities of the driver and pedestrian will not be released at this time, Knab said.
The Mount Olive Police Department, Traffic Unit is investigating the crash and was assisted Budd Lake Fire Department, the Flanders Fire Department, and the Morris County Sherriff’s Office, Criminal Investigative Section.
Route 206 was closed for approximately three hours while the on-scene investigation was being conducted, police said.
