Man accused of using fraudulent information to obtain a TD Bank credit card in Warren County

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A New York man is accused of using fraudulent information to obtain a TD Bank credit card in Greenwich Township, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Tuesday, July 30, at around 11:39 a.m., police responded to the TD Bank, located on Route 22, for a report of an individual utilizing fraudulent information to obtain a TD Bank credit card, officials said.

Upon officers arrival, an individual matching the description of the suspect was located and identified as Luis A. Godoy, 52, of Brooklyn, authorities said.

Godoy was arrested and charged with third-degree forgery, specifically by attempting to alter the victim’s TD Bank account information, third-degree presented a false government document, specifically a New Jersey Drivers License, and fourth-degree impersonating another, with the purpose to benefit himself or another or to injure or defraud another, the prosecutor’s office said.

Third-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 5 years in New Jersey State Prison, and fourth-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.
