Falling tree kills motorcyclist on Route 46 in Warren County
WHITE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a falling tree on Route 46 in Warren County Sunday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:58 p.m. on Route 46 westbound at milepost 11.8 in White Township, Lebron said.
According to a preliminary investigation, a Honda motorcycle, operated by Travis Worrell, 32, of Hackettstown, was traveling westbound on Route 46 when a tree fell into the roadway and struck him, causing the motorcycle to overturn, Lebron said.
Worrell was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries, Lebron said.
The crash remains under investigation.
