Hackettstown Recreation floods Tannery Parking Area for ice skating pond, warns public to stay off ice until frozen

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Hackettstown Recreation has flooded the Tannery Parking Area, located off Grand Avenue in Hackettstown, to create the ice skating pond for the winter season.

The department is urging the public to stay off the skating surface until the ice is completely frozen and deemed safe for use.

As part of the annual effort to offer outdoor recreational activities, the Tannery Parking Area is being transformed into a winter skating venue. However, authorities caution that the ice needs time to thicken and stabilize before it can safely support skaters.
