Gottheimer issues statement on House GOP budget proposal

WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) Thursday released the following statement in response to the House GOP proposed budget resolution:

“House far-right extremists just unveiled a budget blueprint that would gut crucial programs that millions of Americans rely on, including Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP.

This plan is not just a cut — it is a direct hit to your pocketbooks. It will raise costs, slash critical food assistance, and strip away healthcare access for seniors, children, and people with disabilities. Families who are already struggling will be hit hardest.

This plan would be a disaster for NJ families. I will fight tooth and nail to protect the programs that Jersey families depend on.”
