Aerial mosquito control scheduled in parts of Warren County May 7–8
WARREN COUNTY, NJ – Aerial mosquito control operations are scheduled across several Warren County communities from May 7 to May 8, the Warren County Mosquito Control Commission announced.
From dawn to dusk, a low-flying fixed-wing aircraft will apply a granular product (resembling kitty litter) to standing water to target the immature, aquatic-stage mosquito population. The product, VectoBac GS, contains the active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis (Bti).
Treatment Areas Include:
- Allamuchy Township: Freeborn Lane Railroad Fields, Bear Creek Road Southeast, Young’s Island Road North, Rydell Road, Shades of Death Road/Bear Creek Intersection
- Frelinghuysen Township: Bear Creek Road, North
- Independence Township: Woods behind Municipal Building/Police Station, Drag Strip, Young’s Island Road, South
- Liberty Township/White Township: Mountain Lake Bog
- Oxford Township: Cat Swamp
The application will be performed by Wings Aerial Applicators using Air Tractor aircraft #N45313, N9194P, or N45553.
