NJ State Police release 2025 ‘Most Wanted’ list featuring 13 violent fugitives

NEW JERSEY – The New Jersey State Police has released its 2025 “Most Wanted” list, highlighting thirteen violent fugitives sought by the NJSP – Fugitive Unit.

Topping the list is Joanne Chesimard, wanted for escaping from a New Jersey correctional institution in 1979 while serving a life sentence for the May 2, 1973, murder of Trooper Werner Foerster #2608.

The remaining fugitives are wanted for crimes including murder, sexual assault of a minor, weapons offenses, escape, human trafficking, and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. All individuals on the list are considered dangerous, police said.
