Frelinghuysen Township clerk among 2025 Municipal Clerks Honor Roll inductees
FRELINGHUYSEN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Professional Municipal Clerks Week, observed May 4 through May 10 this year, highlights the vital role municipal clerks play in local government.
Clerks serve as the backbone of municipal operations, often working behind the scenes to manage records, oversee elections, document legislative actions and ensure government transparency.
In celebration of their contributions, General Code created the Municipal Clerks Honor Roll in 2001. The program, which ran for nine years, was reintroduced in 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Municipal Clerks Week, as designated by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
This year, more than 300 clerks from 33 states were nominated for the Honor Roll. Of those, 43 were from New Jersey, including four from Warren County.
Frelinghuysen Township Clerk Donna Zilberfarb was among the 2025 inductees — marking her third time receiving this recognition.
“I thank Donna for everything she has done, and continues to do, to help our residents, as well as the Township Committee members — all while doing the other 150 jobs that she has,” said Mayor Sharon Drylie. “The recognition of our Municipal Clerk, Donna Zilberfarb, is a meaningful way to show appreciation of her hard work and commitment. Thank you, Donna, and congratulations.”
