N.J. Pathways Business Forum to support small businesses June 13 at Rutgers

TRENTON, N.J. — Registration is now open for the NJ Pathways Business Forum, a statewide event scheduled for Friday, June 13, at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. The forum is hosted by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury and the New Jersey Business Action Center.

The free, daylong event aims to help business owners understand and access public and private procurement opportunities, receive assistance with state registration and certification, and connect with experts for tailored business support.

Attendees will be able to meet directly with representatives from federal, state, and private entities, including the U.S. Small Business Administration, University Hospital, New Jersey Department of Transportation, NJ Transit, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, South Jersey Industries, PSE&G, Turner Construction Company, and SHI International Corp.

SHI, once a certified small business enterprise, has grown through partnerships with the state and will be featured as a success story during the event.

The forum will include coordinated matchmaking sessions designed to connect businesses with government agencies and private companies seeking their services. Rutgers Business School has collaborated with the Treasury Department to identify relevant contract opportunities in advance of the event.

Subject matter experts from the Treasury Department will be available on site to provide technical assistance with business registration and certification. Workshops throughout the day will cover topics such as procurement processes, access to capital, and navigating public and private sector contract opportunities.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with breakfast and registration beginning at 8 a.m. It is designed to support businesses that have been historically excluded from economic opportunity.

Members of the press who wish to attend must RSVP to Department of the Treasury Public Information Officer Jeremy Lemmon at jeremy.lemmon@treas.nj.gov by 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10.
