Sussex County announces cooling centers, charging stations for summer heat

SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J. — With summer heat on the horizon, Sussex County officials are reminding residents that all county library branches, the Montague Municipal Building, and the Sparta Police Department will be available as cooling centers and charging stations.

The Sparta Police Department, located at 65 Main St., operates as a 24/7 cooling center, offering relief at any time of day or night. Other facilities will be open during regular business hours to provide air-conditioned spaces and access to power for charging devices.

County officials encourage residents to take advantage of these facilities during extreme heat to stay safe and cool.
