Madison police investigating residential burglary, stolen vehicle recovered
MADISON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — The Madison Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred around 3 a.m. on July 31 on Woodland Road, authorities said.
According to police, the suspects were able to enter the home and steal the resident’s vehicle after finding the keys inside. Officers later recovered a silver 2011 Hyundai Sonata at the scene, which had been reported stolen from Irvington earlier that morning.
Prior to the break-in, police believe the same suspects attempted to steal several other vehicles in the area. Reports of attempted motor vehicle thefts were made on East Lane and Cross Gates Road, police said.
Anyone with surveillance footage of the Hyundai, suspects, or any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Ken Shannon at (973) 593-3004 or ShannonK@rosenet.org.
