
Morris County law enforcement to host National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Oct. 25
MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Morris County law enforcement officials will participate in the semi-annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, encouraging residents to safely dispose of unused or expired medications.
The event is coordinated nationally by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Participating local agencies include the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from Morris Plains, Morris Township, and Randolph Township.
The goal of the program is to reduce prescription drug abuse and misuse by providing residents a safe and anonymous way to turn in medications for proper disposal. Collected drugs will be destroyed in a secure, non-hazardous manner.
Satellite collection sites will operate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following Morris County locations:
- ACME Supermarket, 690 Millbrook Ave., Randolph
- ShopRite of Greater Morristown, 178 East Hanover Ave., Cedar Knolls
- Stop & Shop Supermarket, 245 Littleton Rd./U.S. 202, Morris Plains
Residents unable to visit these locations can use permanent drop boxes in the county.
