Overnight traffic stoppages planned at New Hope-Lambertville Toll Bridge for construction work

LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Motorists traveling across the New Hope-Lambertville (Route 202) Toll Bridge should expect traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes in both directions overnight Wednesday, Nov. 12, through early Thursday, Nov. 13, officials said.

The stoppages, scheduled between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, are necessary for a contractor to hoist and install a pre-cast concrete tower along the bridge’s Pennsylvania approach, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

The work is part of an ongoing project to convert the bridge’s former southbound cash-collection toll plaza to a highway-speed, open-road tolling system that will use E-ZPass and TOLL BY PLATE billing.

Officials advised drivers to allow extra travel time, use caution, and be prepared to stop if traveling through the area during the overnight hours.

The schedule is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, or other factors, the Commission said.
