Sussex County Library System rolls out monthlong lineup of holiday events
SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J. — The Sussex County Library System is ushering in the holiday season with a full slate of festive programs, hands-on workshops and family-friendly events throughout December.
Library officials said the system’s branches will offer activities for all ages — from craft sessions and tea tastings to cookie swaps and holiday concerts — in addition to an expanded collection of seasonal books, movies and music.
Adults can take part in winter crafting sessions, including a Crochet Christmas Tree Workshop and a Macrame Christmas Tree Workshop, both scheduled for Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Sussex-Wantage Branch in Wantage. A Winter Watercolor Painting class with artist Regina will be held Dec. 13 at noon at the Main Library in Frankford.
Tea tastings is set for Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Dorothy Henry Branch in Vernon. Cookie lovers can join a exchange event at the Main Library and Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Franklin Branch.
Cupcake and cookie decorating workshops for adults and children will be offered throughout the month, including Cupcake Decorating with Amanda on multiple sessions at the Sussex-Wantage Branch between Dec. 8 and Dec. 11.
Children and teens can participate in a variety of seasonal craft programs, such as ornament decorating on Dec. 6 at the Louise Childs Branch and a STEM-based light-up holiday card project on Dec. 9. The Sussex-Wantage Branch will host a Holiday Open House on Dec. 23 at 10 a.m.
Meg’s Artistry will offer youth art classes on Dec. 13 in Stanhope, Dec. 20 in Frankford and Dec. 29 in Wantage. Storytime with Santa will be held twice on Dec. 23 at the Louise Childs Branch, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Seasonal events for all ages include Holiday Train Shows on Dec. 6 at the Dorothy Henry Branch and Dec. 20 at the Sussex-Wantage Branch. A holiday concert is planned for Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Franklin Branch, and the virtual program “Under the Tree at Liberty Hall” will take place Dec. 17 at 2 p.m.
