Three Hunterdon County restaurants rank among NJ.com’s ‘99 Greatest Restaurants in New Jersey’
HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. – Three Hunterdon County restaurants have been named among the “99 Greatest Restaurants in New Jersey,” according to NJ.com’s newly released statewide dining guide, which the publication describes as the “biggest food story in New Jersey history.”
The list reflects a yearlong review by NJ.com’s food team, which evaluated eateries across all 21 counties based on food quality, creativity, service, and atmosphere. Hunterdon County earned three spots in the top quarter of the rankings:
- No. 2 – Sergeantsville Inn, Delaware Township
- No. 6 – D’floret, Lambertville
- No. 22 – Stockton Inn, Stockton
Commissioner Jeff Kuhl, who serves as co-liaison to the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, said the recognition highlights the county’s growing reputation as a dining destination.
“We are proud to see Hunterdon County represented so prominently in the statewide ranking,” Kuhl said. “From fine dining to historic inns, our communities offer great experiences for residents and visitors. This recognition reinforces what we already know – Hunterdon County is one of New Jersey’s most delicious destinations.”
NJ.com described the project as a “deep dive” into the state’s culinary landscape, featuring cuisines ranging from Italian to Bangladeshi and spotlighting restaurants in every corner of the state. The inclusion of multiple Hunterdon establishments underscores the county’s vibrant food scene and its hospitality industry.
Commissioner Susan J. Soloway, also a liaison to Economic Development and Tourism, praised the restaurants for helping elevate the county’s culinary status.
“Having three of our restaurants ranked among the best in the entire state speaks to the creativity and dedication of our local chefs and restaurateurs,” Soloway said. “Beyond dining, Hunterdon County offers a full spectrum of activities that make it a must-visit destination. Visitors can explore scenic parks, charming river towns, wineries, breweries, historic sites, and seasonal events – all through the Explore Hunterdon initiative.”
The recognition by NJ.com follows a series of notable mentions for Hunterdon County eateries in regional publications. New Jersey Monthly’s 2025 ‘Best Restaurants’ list praised the county’s dining strength, while Observer highlighted Finnbar as a standout farm-driven destination and the Philadelphia Inquirer called Sergeantsville Inn one of the region’s most complete dining experiences.
County officials said the Department of Economic Development and Tourism will continue promoting local restaurants, small businesses and attractions through its Explore Hunterdon campaign.
