Donutful chocolate-dipped vanilla cake donuts recalled nationwide over undeclared milk allergen
The Better Bakehouse Snack Company is recalling certain lots of Donutful Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Cake Donuts because they may contain undeclared milk, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could experience a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product, the FDA said.
The recall involves Donutful Chocolate Dipped Vanilla Cake Donuts sold as 10 mini donuts in a 7.05-ounce carton containing five 1.41-ounce pouches. The recalled product has UPC 3 50041 39210 3, a “Best If Used By” date of Sept. 15, 2026, and Lot 26078.
The recall is limited to specific product lots manufactured and distributed in March. The donuts were distributed to retailers nationwide and through Amazon.com. The recalled products were also sold at Target stores and Target.com.
According to the FDA, the issue was discovered after one allergic reaction was reported in connection with the recalled product. The individual has fully recovered.
The contract manufacturer identified the cause of the mislabeling and has taken corrective measures, according to the recall notice.
Consumers can dispose of the affected product and obtain a refund from their point of purchase with a receipt or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
