Woman charged after head-on crash injures driver in Morris County

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — An 18-year-old Parsippany woman was charged with assault by auto and driving while intoxicated following a head-on crash that seriously injured another driver in Hanover Township, police said on Wednesday.

Police said the charges stem from a crash reported Dec. 19, 2025, at Algonquin Parkway and Leslie Court. Investigators said the woman’s vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling north.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious bodily injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said.

Police said the woman showed signs of impairment at the scene and was administered field sobriety tests, which she failed. She was taken into custody on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Because of the severity of the injuries, police applied for and received a warrant for a blood draw. The woman was taken to the hospital, where the sample was collected and she was medically evaluated and cleared, authorities said.

She was later transported to the Morris County Jail, where she is being held pending a detention hearing, police said.
