Gottheimer holds telephone town hall on energy costs, Iran conflict, federal funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer hosted a telephone town hall with thousands of North Jersey residents to discuss energy costs, foreign policy and federal funding, his office said.

During the event, Gottheimer addressed bipartisan efforts to lower utility costs in New Jersey, as well as his work on the House Intelligence Committee related to the ongoing conflict with Iran. He also discussed funding for the Department of Homeland Security, efforts to improve airport efficiency and initiatives aimed at returning federal tax dollars to New Jersey residents.

Gottheimer fielded questions about a package of bipartisan bills he is advancing to address energy shortages while protecting the environment. He also highlighted constituent services available through his office, including assistance with veterans benefits, Medicare and passport applications.

“This telephone town hall gave me the chance to speak directly with residents about the issues that matter most to North Jersey families,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I’m focused on cutting taxes and lowering costs to keep more money in your pockets. I will keep fighting to combat rising utility bills, bring down your taxes, and ensure that hard-working Jersey families have access to affordable health care and childcare.”

Gottheimer was joined by Bergen County Commissioner Tom Sullivan, Cresskill Mayor John Morgan, Hackensack Fire Department Chief Keith Rosazza and the Rev. Shea Maultsby of Unity of Sussex County.
