MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Law enforcement agencies across Morris County will participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, offering residents a safe way to dispose of unused or expired medications.
The semiannual event, coordinated nationwide by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, aims to prevent the misuse and abuse of prescription drugs by encouraging the public to anonymously turn in medications for proper disposal.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is partnering with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and local police departments in Morris Plains, Morris Township and Randolph to host collection sites throughout the county.
Officials said the collected medications will be securely handled and destroyed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Drop-off locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following sites:
- Uncle Giuseppe’s, 1711 Route 10 East, Morris Plains
- ACME Supermarket, 690 Millbrook Ave., Randolph
- ShopRite of Greater Morristown, 178 East Hanover Ave., Cedar Knolls
Residents who are unable to attend the event can use permanent prescription drug drop boxes located throughout the county.
