Man charged in series of package thefts at Morris County apartment complex

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Passaic County man has been charged in connection with a series of package thefts reported at an apartment complex in Mount Olive Township, authorities said.

Police responded March 20 at approximately 2:10 p.m. to the Overlook at Flanders for a report of a stolen package taken from a common area inside the building.

During the investigation, authorities determined that multiple similar thefts had occurred at the complex involving suspects matching the same description. A vehicle believed to be involved was identified as a blue Honda Insight.

Through the investigation, police identified the suspect as Edward J. Floresgonzalez, 50, of Prospect Park.

On April 5, Floresgonzalez went to police headquarters, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with theft of movable property and later released pending a court hearing.
