Flemington Fairy Trail opens with more than 100 handcrafted houses at Tuccamirgan Park
FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — More than 100 handcrafted fairy houses are now on display at Tuccamirgan Park as part of the newly opened Flemington Fairy Trail.
County Commissioners Susan J. Soloway and Shaun C. Van Doren joined residents, community partners and Raritan Committeewoman Robyn Fatooh on April 11 for the trail’s opening, each contributing their own handmade fairy houses to the exhibit.
The whimsical displays, created by community members from across Hunterdon County, were built using natural materials such as wood, sticks, stones, shells and glass. Organizers said the designs were crafted to be both creative and safe for local wildlife.
“This event brought together so many members of our community in a fun and creative way,” said Commissioner Soloway. “Seeing the imagination and care that went into each fairy house was truly special.”
Commissioner Van Doren added, “It was great to take part in something hands-on and familyfriendly that highlights our parks and encourages people to get outside and explore.”
Participants of all ages were invited to build and submit fairy houses for approval before placement along the trail to ensure compatibility with the park environment.
The Flemington Fairy Trail is sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 80882 and supported by Girl Scout Service Unit 84. Refreshments at the opening event were offered by Girl Scout Troop 80743.
The trail is now open to the public, offering visitors an interactive and imaginative outdoor experience.
