Man charged after allegedly stealing jewelry from Warren County pawn shop

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Mansfield Township man was charged after he allegedly stole jewelry from a Hackettstown pawn shop.

On Monday, Aug. 26, at around 12:11 p.m., police responded to The Gold Mine, located at 176 Main Street, for a report of a theft, police said.

Through an investigation, it was determined that 24-year-old Leiner Steven Solorzano-Mera entered the store and asked to see several pieces of jewelry, police said.

While the victim was distracted, Solorzano-Mera stole four pieces of jewelry, valued at $250.00, and exited the building. Officers were able to located him at the intersection of Madison Street and Church Street, police said.

Solorzano-Mera was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court appearance, police said.
