Centenary Stage Company to present ‘Grace for President’ Oct. 1-5
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Centenary Stage Company will present the musical “Grace for President” as part of its Young Audience Series from Oct. 1-5 at Centenary University in Hackettstown.
Based on the children’s book “Grace for President” by Kelly DiPucchio, the musical follows Grace, a young girl who questions why there are no girls on a classroom poster featuring every U.S. president.
Grace decides to run for class president, setting off a school-wide election. When the school’s most popular boy enters the race, Grace learns about campaigning, debates, teamwork, perseverance and leadership.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1; 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2; noon Saturday, Oct. 3; 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4; and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5.
All performances will be held in The Little Theatre in the Seay Administrative Building on the Centenary University campus, 400 Jefferson St.
Tickets are $15 for children and $17.50 for adults. Hackettstown residents can purchase $5 tickets with proof of residency. The resident discount is available only in person at the box office on the day of the performance.
The Young Audience Series is part of Centenary Stage Company’s mission to provide performances and workshops for young people throughout the region. The series also offers productions that can tour on and off site.
