Tractor-trailer erupts in flames on I-287 in Morris County; no injuries

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A tractor-trailer caught fire early Sunday on Interstate 287 in Morris County, authorities said.

State police responded at approximately 4:51 a.m. to the northbound lanes of I-287 at milepost 47.5 in Montville Township, according to NJSP spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

When troopers arrived, the tractor-trailer was fully engulfed in flames.

No injuries were reported, Lebron said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.
