Affinity Federal Credit Union names 2026 Wellbeing Awards honorees

BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (Somerset County) — Affinity Federal Credit Union has announced the recipients of its third annual Wellbeing Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations across New Jersey for contributions to financial, community and physical wellbeing.

The awards highlight those making measurable impacts through innovation and a commitment to improving the lives of others, officials said.

The 2026 recipients include Yewande Efodili of Touch Link and Mobile Minds of NJ in the community wellbeing category; Mary Foster of Affinity Federal Credit Union and the Food Bank of Somerset County in financial wellbeing; and Alice Romanek, along with RideWise and Prevention Links, in physical wellbeing.

“This year’s honorees represent the kind of work that drives meaningful change in our communities,” said Kevin Brauer, President & CEO of Affinity. “Their commitment to financial wellbeing, community support, and healthier lives is helping to create stronger outcomes across New Jersey. We’re proud to recognize their efforts.”

Affinity said the awards are rooted in its broader mission to support the wellbeing of its members and communities statewide.

The program is supported through partnerships with Gallup, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset and the Greater Somerset County YMCA.

Officials said each honoree demonstrates a strong connection to their community through mission-driven work and tangible results.

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker.
