HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Residents and visitors should expect temporary road closures and parking restrictions during the annual Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Monday, May 25, town officials announced Thursday.
Road closures will begin at 9 a.m. to accommodate parade participants and spectators. The parade is scheduled to step off promptly at 10 a.m. at the corner of Grand Avenue and Washington Street.
Affected roadways include portions of Route 46 (Main Street), Route 182 (Mountain Avenue), Grand Avenue, High Street, East Moore Street, East Plane Street, Washington Street, Valentine Street and several connecting side streets throughout the downtown area.
Police officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with traffic control and detours. Motorists are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes during the event.
In addition, no-parking and tow-away restrictions will take effect at 8 a.m. along designated sections of Main Street, Liberty Street, Franklin Street, Washington Street, Valentine Street, Victoria Lane, Bells Lane and the entirety of Mountain Avenue. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, officials said.
Public parking will remain available in municipal parking lots and on permitted side streets.
Town officials encouraged attendees to arrive early to secure parking and seating along the parade route.
“We thank all residents and visitors for their cooperation and patience as we honor those who have served our nation,” the town said in a statement.
