Mosquito treatment scheduled Friday in 2 Morris County towns

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Mosquito Commission announced plans to conduct mosquito control treatments Friday morning in portions of Denville and Rockaway due to increased adult mosquito populations.

Weather permitting, crews will treat wooded areas by all-terrain vehicle on May 29 between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The treatment areas include Pocono Road in Denville and Beech Street near Fireman’s Field in Rockaway, according to the commission.

Officials said either Anvil 2+2, containing the active ingredient Sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, containing Etofenprox, will be used during the application process.

The Morris County Mosquito Commission said the treatments are being conducted in response to elevated mosquito activity in the affected areas.
