Mosquito spraying planned June 5 at East Hanover park

EAST HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Mosquito control officials plan to conduct early morning mosquito treatment operations Friday in East Hanover due to increased adult mosquito populations.

Weather permitting, mosquito control crews will treat wooded areas at Lurker Park along Ridgedale Avenue on June 5 between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The treatment will be performed using an all-terrain vehicle, according to officials.

Applicators will use either Anvil 2+2, which contains the active ingredient sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, which contains the active ingredient etofenprox.

Officials said the treatment is being conducted in response to an increase in adult mosquito populations in the area.

The spraying schedule is weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions are not suitable for treatment operations
